I grew up in a food centric family. My dad owned a diner and I started working there on busy weekends when I was young. I became familiar with a commercial kitchen at a young age and my parent's home cooking drew me further into a love for food. During college in Colorado, I realized that food might be where my life led. I briefly worked on a small farm in Alaska, moved to Lake Tahoe to work for a chef, then moved to Sonoma to work at a nonprofit teaching teens culinary skills.
